DR. ANNA GALLOWAY

Faculty Advisor

I wanted to be part of the OT EAC because of my passion for working with students and working with communities to provide care to those who may not have access.  It is an honor to work with this outstanding group of OT students as we work to meet the needs of the Gainesville area.

My favorite occupations are spending time with my family, running, and reading.

OLIVIA MORAND

Co-Director

The EAC is an organization I have been eager to be a part of since I learned about it in my undergraduate studies. I am very passionate about reaching underserved communities and providing them with the services they deserve. I love building relationships with our clients and helping them get back to doing the activities they love, as well as working alongside amazing students in other fields to learn and provide education and care to those in our community. Serving as co-director has given me this opportunity, and I am loving every minute of it!

My favorite occupations are hiking, baking, and doing anything on the water (swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, etc.)!

LEAH KNIGHT

Telehealth Coordinator

I was interested in becoming involved with the OT EAC board because I believe that all people deserve access to high-quality, patient-centered care – no matter their circumstance. Being given the chance to obtain both clinical and leadership experiences within my field, while serving the community I have called home for over 6 years now is an opportunity I could not pass up.

Occupations I love getting to engage in during my time outside of school and work include anything that has to do with being on the water (scuba diving, fishing, snorkeling... you name it!) and listening to podcasts/reading books about true crime!

SORIAH MILORIN

Secretary

I wanted to join the OT EAC board because I have always loved being involved in the community and volunteering. I found a place that connects my love for occupational therapy and the community -- and that is with the EAC. I am honored to be able to work with dedicated faculty, peers and clinicians that all support the idea that health care should be accessible to all.

My favorite occupations are spending time outside with my dog and reading poetry books as well as singing and dancing (badly) but having fun!

LINDSEY BERKOWITZ

Scheduling Coordinator

I joined the OT EAC because I believe in this organization’s mission. The EAC allows equal opportunities for wellness and health, which should be accessible to every individual. As students, we can build upon our growing OT skills while serving the local community! The EAC is just the first step in working towards closing the gap in health disparities.

My favorite occupations are reading, baking, and spending as much time as possible with family and friends!

MELINDA SHAW

Finance Officer

I joined the OT EAC because I am passionate about providing high-quality health care services to all people, especially those that do not have access or the resources to obtain it. I believe everyone should be able to live their lives to the fullest without any barriers to their health or wellbeing. I am excited and humbled to be able to work with such a great team to reach the Gainesville community and beyond.

My favorite occupations to participate in are cooking, biking, and hanging out with family and friends.

KAYLA RAMOS

Marking Coordinator

I wanted to be a part of the OT EAC exec board to have a more active role in providing people with OT services that they may not have access to otherwise. As I learned about health disparities and interacted with people who were uninsured or underinsured through my undergrad coursework and volunteer experiences, my desire to work with diverse, underserved communities continued to grow. I also wanted to join because I knew that it would offer me an unparalleled experience to hone my leadership, interpersonal, and clinical skills.

My favorite occupations are cooking, biking, and dancing!

AVERY FERGUSON

OT EACN Liaison

I sought out being a part of the OT EAC Board because it is a very practical way for me to be present and active in our local community. Not only does the board provide me with an opportunity to love and care for my Gainesville “neighbors,” but it is also a chance for me to grow in confidence as a future occupational therapist and apply what I am learning in the classroom.

My favorite occupations include being active outside with friends or family, cross stitching, and eating ice cream!

ANA GHISLANDI

Community Liaison

Since my undergraduate career at the University of Florida, I have looked forward to volunteering with the OT Equal Access Clinic. Being on the executive board gives me more opportunities to do that!  It is a great place for students to practice clinical and interpersonal skills with clients. The OT EAC also helps the Gainesville community by providing free services to those in need while increasing awareness for the field of OT in underserved populations that may not otherwise have the opportunity to encounter it.

My favorite occupations involve being outdoors with family and friends, like going camping, hiking, or being at the beach.
