SERVICES
Provided by University of Florida Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) students, faculty members, and local clinicians.
EVALUATIONS
We complete evaluations for a client's first session, using an occupational profile and other assessments to get to know the client. By performing evaluations, we learn how to best serve clients and how to tailor our interventions to suit your goals, values, interests, roles, and routines.
Appointments can be made for our in-person clinic or our Telehealth clinic (on Zoom) through this site or by emailing oteac@chfm.ufl.edu or calling or texting 352-888-4636.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY INTERVENTIONS
Occupational therapy interventions vary depending on the client's condition, goals, abilities, roles, hobbies, and interests. Occupations are activities or tasks that "occupy" one's time, or things that we have to do, want to do, or we are expected to do. Interventions aim to improve body function and skills, such as motor, process, and social interaction skills for individuals to be able to perform their occupations safely.

DIABETES EDUCATION CLASSES
The OT EAC and Pharmacy EAC work together to provide diabetes education for individuals with diabetes and their caregivers through an interactive presentation on Zoom. During the class, clients can learn about the causes, symptoms, health risks related to diabetes, along with lifestyle changes they can make to manage their diabetes. Diabetes education classes are held on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 6-7 PM. Please contact us to learn more and to sign up for a class.
